When Maddy Kimberley was on holiday in Crete, Greece, she accidentally noticed a visitor at the rental home.
A small, tan dog was having a fantastic time roaming around and relaxing in the home’s yard.

After attempting to approach the dog, Kimberley changed her mind and allowed him to approach her on his own terms. Her easygoing demeanor paid off, and the friendly dog soon cuddled up in her lap.
For Kimberley, “it was love at first sight,” The Dodo said.
The dog had lice and fleas, was collarless, and Kimberley thought he was a stray. She and her boyfriend fed the dog, and they also made him feel at home.

The following morning, he was waiting outdoors again.
Kimberley stated in an Instagram post that “he would not leave my side from that point on.”
Kimberley commented, “It was wonderful how fast he was able to trust and feel at ease with me.

Unexpectedly, there was a vet staying nearby as well. After successfully maintaining stray animals in the past, the veterinarian asked Kimberley if she may want assistance bringing the dog home. The tragic reality that Kimberley couldn’t bring her new friend back to England was difficult for her to accept. She then left the dog in the vet’s capable hands.
“I felt simply so depressed”, Kimberley wrote.
For several weeks, Kimberley continued thinking about and having nightmares about the Airbnb puppy.
