As armed intruders break into the home, a loyal adoptive dog bravely takes a bullet to the face to protect the owners.

One day, a family adopted a puppy from a shelter and showered him with love. Years later, the dog returned the favor by sparing her owner from being shot. The home’s inhabitants were robbed early in October.

While one of them attempted to deal with the eldest daughter, the family dog stopped him. The other shot the home’s owner in the bedroom. The bleeding intruder was chased away by her as she leaped at him with a fervor that none of her owners had ever witnessed.

A shot split the dog’s jaw apart. She tried to call for aid by rushing to her neighbors because she was hurt and unable to bark. The gates were shut, and the dog made her way to the lake, where she frequently walked with her owners to look for people.

After driving around the area for an hour, the remaining family members came across the dog sleeping on the grass next to the river. Two teeth were knocked out, the bullet fractured the bones in her lower jaw, and it seriously wounded her tongue.

The dog required tube feeding for a number of weeks because she was unable to eat on her own. The physicians used a metal prosthesis to replace the broken pieces of bone once the dog was strong enough for surgery. On the shelter’s Facebook page, the family later expressed their gratitude to the community for its support and financial assistance, which covered the majority of the expenditures associated with caring for the puppy. In honor of their second dog, the family chose to donate any monies left over after paying for the therapy to a shelter.
