It’s “easier for walks.” Dogs are happy that a new wearable fan keeps them cool during the heat waves.

A novel fan that attaches to a dog’s body to keep them cool is easing the stress of taking a dog outside in the sweltering heat.
The portable fans were made by a Tokyo, Japan, clothing manufacturer to help animals, particularly cats, deal with the unusually hot temperatures this summer.

To construct the devices, the designers collaborated with veterans. These consist of a tiny, portable, battery-powered fan that is fastened to a mesh costume and blows air all about the body of the animal. The concept was created by Rei Uzawa, president of the maternity clothes company Sweet Mommy. After observing her beloved chihuahua struggling each time she took it for a walk in the heat, she had the idea.

“I think we designed a product that is perfect for the market,” she added. “There was almost no rainy season this year, so the hot days came early.”

According to official broadcaster NHK, Japan’s high humidity levels maintain daytime temperatures of around 25°C well into the evening. Tokyo saw the longest heatwave on record in late June after the rainy season ended, with nine days of temperatures as high as 35C (95F).

Although experts have advised owners to forgo walks during the country’s recent record-breaking heatwave, the little fans may make it easier to take the pets outside when the temperature cools off over an evening.

48-year-old dog owner Mami Kumamoto said: “I typically employ dry ice packs (to keep the dog cool). But I believe having this fan will make it simpler for me to stroll my dog.”

Since there was essentially no rainy season this year, the scorching days arrived early, according to Ms. Uzawa. The Cool Dog line, which also fits cats, seems to be based on fan-fitted jackets, which are increasingly becoming common among office employees who spend a lot of time outside.

Since experts predict another hot spell for the UK, demand is not anticipated to decline very soon. By the end of the week, temperatures will increase, with southern Britain once more having a chance of experiencing highs in the mid-30s C.

Scotland and the north will experience temperatures in the 20s and have a higher risk of precipitation.
The beginning of this month is anticipated to feel oppressively hot due to rising temperatures and excessive humidity.

Weather experts have advised against exercising during the day and only going outside if absolutely necessary.
