The moment a boy encounters a dog with the same skin condition as him, the two hit it off.

Nowadays, many people take satisfaction in being unique. A child who is different can consider countless ideas on where they fit in with their social group. Kids like to blend in with their peers than stand out.

Eight-year-old Noah is a child with vitiligo. According to Noah’s adoptive mother Susan, he did not like the color of his skin and did not like the way he looked since it was too different from other people’s.

This went on until the youngster made a new friend who understood his peculiarity. Then, one day, a purebred black Labrador showed up—it was a miracle.

The same year Noah received his vitiligo diagnosis, he did too! Noah’s mother came across him online. “Noah was thrilled to learn that there is a dog with vitiligo when I showed him the article,” I said.

As soon as Rodeo entered the room, Noah gave him a bear hug, as if they had been friends for years. The boy became more confident. Since we don’t have vitiligo, Noah thinks our skin is “boring,” Susan jokes.
