A cute dog who the vets said was “finished” survives thanks to a wheelchair that has been carefully modified.

Zook, a 15-year-old Staffie who lives with his loyal owner Sean Farrell in Birmingham, West Mids, has a dog’s life.

Due to spondylosis, which damaged his vertebral bones and compressed his spinal cord, Zook regrettably lost the use of his legs about two years ago when they started to weaken.

Zook, a 15-year-old Staffie who lives with his loyal owner Sean Farrell in Birmingham, West Midlands, has a dog’s life.

Sean spent £400 on a custom wheelchair for Zook after discovering other dogs with the same problem were using them to go around.

In order to give Zook a well-deserved break, Sean also purchased a buggy.

“Since acquiring the buggy, a lot of individuals have taken similar actions with their dogs, and they’ve all told me what a huge difference it makes to their quality of life when they’re outside in the sunshine.”

Zook’s tale was posted by Sean on Facebook.

Brave Zook has even been named the spokesperson for Room for One More Staffie, a Stourbridge organization that rescues unwanted and old dogs from abuse and neglect.

The past two years have been the hardest of our life combined, and Sean found it admirable that Zook’s bravery has been acknowledged.”

“I know Zook is getting close to the end of his life, but after having such a fantastic friend and companion, it’s the least I can do to keep him at ease and content in his later years,” the speaker says.
