Instead of battling like cat and dog, Millie the eagle-eyed dog saved his frightened cat pal Jess who was entangled in barbed wire.
Millie began to growl and whine while she and her owner, 48-year-old Pete Adney, were walking close to their Birmingham house in the Castle Bromwich neighborhood.

Pete saw Jess entangled in the wire and dove in to free her after being unable to move her on.
Fortunately, Pete was wearing his motorcycle leathers and was able to liberate Jess from the wire by squeezing through a thorn bush.
After bringing her home, they hurried the two-year-old to YourVets in Stechford, West Mids, with the aid of his wife Sharon, 47.
Jess was transferred to YourVets in Coventry, West Mids, for life-saving surgery after she had been stabilized.

They had to postpone their planned trip to Italy because they had to spend £1000 on her medical bills.
“Jess will unquestionably remain a home cat going forward.
She is currently lying on the ground and displaying her scars for Millie to see.

When Pete brought Jess in, she was quite frail and pale, according to senior veterinary surgeon Matthew Plumtree.
She had likely been trapped for a few days, so our top priorities were to rehydrate her and provide pain treatment by placing her on a drip.
