Before being rescued by the nonprofit organization Nowzad, Mazar had endured two years living on the streets of Afghanistan with paralyzed legs.

After being rescued from the streets of Afghanistan by a former RAF servicemember and having its legs amputated, the adorable puppy needs a buggy.

His hind legs were severed by veterinarians because they were so severely injured, and they tested him on wheels before returning him to the UK.

Helene has also purchased a buggy for him even though he does a terrific job of getting around without his rear legs.
The dog was taken to the clinic of the animal rescue organization Nowzad after being discovered on the streets of Mazar-e-Sharif, Afghanistan.

Nowzad aids in the rescue of stray animals that have been impacted by armed conflict as well as the reunion of service personnel with the pets they adopt while on duty.

Mazar’s legs were totally paralyzed, according to the vet team, because of being run over and crushed.

In place of four moving limbs, he propelled himself forward using just his front legs since his back legs were fixed straight ahead, trapping him in the “sit” position.

After two years of being glued in place, his back legs were useless when he arrived at the clinic, despite the veterinarians’ best efforts.

Before providing him with a set of wheels to replace his back legs, the Nowzad vets made the tough decision to amputate his rear legs.

But after living for so long on just two legs, Mazar has learned to live without them because he didn’t know what to do with a full set of limbs.

He can’t run as fast on two legs as Helene’s other two dogs, so she’s invested in a buggy to assist him go around.

“I knew Mazar was the dog for me when I heard about him,” the owner said. “I love him exactly the way he is, so it’s not really that important.”
