Ruby, who is five months old, had to have one of her front legs amputated since she was born with a malformed paw. Ruby is still looking for a home, despite the fact that puppies from the RSPCA are typically adopted out within a few days.

Ruby had difficulty with her front right leg when she first came to the center a month ago.
Her owners needed the RSPCA to help them locate her a better home because they were having trouble managing her.
Following a veterinary examination, it became clear that her front limb had to be amputated due to a congenital abnormality that had caused it to curl up.
Ruby was able to immediately resume her normal activities following the surgery because she was accustomed to having only three limbs.

Ruby has been accompanied to hydrotherapy and physiotherapy sessions by Leanne, the staff member, and her team as they continue to assist Ruby in strengthening her remaining three legs.
Leanne hopes that any future owner might be able to work with a veterinarian to bring Ruby back onto all fours with a false leg as her stump is now too small for a prosthesis.
Instead of long excursions and constant monitoring of her legs and health, she’ll require light exercise when she finally finds someone to take care of her.

“I think many are afraid about taking on the additional burden because they believe she would be much harder to care for because she only has three legs.”
“We wouldn’t want people to adopt a puppy without giving it significant consideration, but Ruby is such a great dog and I hope people can see that in spite of her impairment.”
She will want a little more assistance from her veterinarian than the normal dog, but she gets along great with kids and other dogs.
