Since Carter was even born, Carter and Toby have been inseparable in their hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana, in the United States.
Devin and Jake Crouch, Carter’s parents, have been using the photo-sharing app Instagram to track their development, and they already have more than 5,000 followers.

The 26-year-old Devin, who has no prior photography training, observed that Carter and Toby had an extraordinary bond.
Since the two of them would always have a particular bond, “we realized that having an Instagram account would be a wonderful way to capture their lives as a couple.”

In June 2011, the couple saved Toby, and Carter joined the family 16 months later.
Devin, an animal lover, initially created the Instagram account to promote animal adoption.
But as the number of followers grew rapidly, the pair made the decision to use the account as Carter’s photo journal.
It feels fantastic, according to Devin, to be able to share these priceless moments with the world and to encourage rescues.

When Carter receives the journal, we are excited for him to see the pictures and the kind comments made by total strangers.
We consider it a great blessing because it has given us a platform to promote animal adoption.
