After being sent back because she was “too clinging,” the starving rescue dog is now looking for a unique home.

A five-year-old Shar Pei named Daisy and another dog named Lady were rescued from a backyard in The Wirral and placed in the care of the RSPCA Wirral & Chester branch in April.
Daisy had lost her fur due to a skin problem and was practically skin and bones when she was saved.

Now that she has gained weight, she is receiving specialized medicinal baths to soothe her irritable skin.
“Daisy and her pal, Lady, had been left in a backyard to fend for themselves,” said Kay Hawthorn, manager of the animal center.

The dogs were terribly underweight. They both started to gain weight after we fed them. Daisy had virtually scratched herself bald and had a severe skin condition.

Lady has since found a new home, but Daisy is still looking for a place to call her own. Daisy was adopted earlier this year but was sent back after a while because she was “too clinging.”

“We need to locate her owners who recognize and value the fact that she enjoys spending time with you by your side, according to Ms. Hawthorn.”

Daisy is looking for a home where she can live with older kids while remaining the only pet.

Daisy has been a delight to work with over the past few months, and she has shown a lot of love for every member of our staff here, Ms. Hawthorn continued.
