Due to her close relationship with her dog, mother-of-two Afsaneh was able to endure her difficult chemotherapy treatment. Afsaneh Parvizi-diagnosis Wayne’s of bladder cancer was a setback, but a loving little puppy named Honey has made her life just a little bit sweeter.
Sincere support dog Cockapoo Honey stayed by her owner’s side as she underwent difficult chemotherapy treatment, enhancing both her physical and mental well-being.
Going on a stroll counteracts chemotherapy weariness, so when I started my treatment, I realized Honey was the best thing that could have occurred, says Afsaneh. After five minutes of walking with Honey, I felt better despite feeling unwell and fatigued.
During walks, Honey restrained herself to keep up with Afsaneh’s leisurely pace and displayed exceptional tolerance and understanding. She even patiently waited for her mistress when she was too ill to proceed.
Chris was concerned that having a puppy in these circumstances could be too much for his wife because Honey, who is now four, entered Afsaneh’s life at a challenging time—just as she learned she had cancer in February 2018—and Chris was right.
The couple, who are parents to two kids, didn’t need to worry. Afsaneh, whose cancer has since gone into remission, has found that consuming honey has given her both a physical and emotional boost.
“Honey may bring to mind a terrible time in my life, but she doesn’t because she’s such a positive,” she continues.
