Contrary to what you might read online, cats actually serve a very vital purpose: they perform pest management.
Arah McAnulty, a squid scientist, recently paid a visit to Longwood Gardens. But Sarah’s main thought was, “What the hell did Persimmon do?” rather than taking in the garden’s diverse array of flora.

People began recounting their encounters with Persimmon the orange tabby after scientist Sarah tweeted about her visit at an “inopportune time.”

Persimmon and many other cats are there to control the pest issue and each has a territory to protect.

Twitter users claim that Persimmon is a friendly cat since, had she not been moved again because the dining room was off-limits, she would have likely spent a significant amount of time on this person’s lap. She also likes animals (meow, meow, meow), and she has no issues sleeping, which is what cats do best (meow, meow, and meow).

Over 3,200 people retweeted the original tweet, which received close to 60,000 likes.
