Rosie O’Donnell has been a prominent comedian, novelist, and TV personality in the US for more than 40 years.
1. She Loves Harry Potter So Much That She Would Play Molly Weasley for Free
When the novels were initially released, one of the well-known figures who became infatuated with them was Rosie O’Donnell. O’Donnell was excited to take on the role of Molly Weasley, Ron Weasley’s adoring yet controlling mother. She was unfortunately passed over in favor of Julie Walters. That was because Warner Brothers had previously decided to exclusively cast famous British actresses in leading parts. In the US edition of the book series, O’Donnell did make an appearance in the form of Molly Weasley’s autograph.

2. She was named prom and homecoming queen.
She is well known for playing humorous parts and isn’t shy about making fun of herself. But in the 1970s, as a senior at Commack High School in New York, she was elected class president and named prom and homecoming queen. She was the class clown before she rose to fame as a stand-up comedian and actor.

3. She and Madonna are close friends.
Since playing the starring parts in A League of Their Own in 1992. O’Donnell has demonstrated her devotion to Madonna by claiming that she would never invite Piers Morgan to appear on her show because of their alleged history of conflicts of interest.
4. Rosie Compiles Happy Meal Toys from McDonald’s
O’Donnell is a devoted collector of McDonald’s Happy Meals toys. These plastic toys, span decades of McDonald’s history. It includes anything from McDonald’s own characters to movie promotional items. Dozens of these plastic toys are used to decorate O’Donnell’s office.

5. She Previously Had a Police Officer As Her Fiancé
This year saw the start of O’Donnell’s excellent long-distance relationship with police officer Elizabeth Rooney. After less than a year, Rooney called off their engagement because she found the demands of dating a famous person while still managing her own profession and personal life to be too much.
