Just Something has covered a lot of animal lovers’ efforts to help their beloved pets when they are in need.
The newlywed couple from Ozark, Missouri, Sally Burky and her husband, helped needy dogs even on their wedding day. During her search for wedding ideas, Sally noticed that more and more bridesmaids were carrying puppies instead of bouquets. It appealed to her to have senior dogs along with puppies.
As a result, she contacted Haven of the Ozarks, a local animal rescue to which she regularly donates, to see if some of its senior dogs could be used for the wedding. The senior dogs of Burky’s bridesmaids walked together down the aisle on Burky’s special day.
In the years since the wedding, several dogs that attended have been adopted and found permanent homes. During the wedding, the couple collected donations for the shelter. Visit the Haven of the Ozarks website or Facebook page if you’re interested in adopting a homeless animal.
