A 53-year-old woman believed she was adopted, but her real family never gave up looking for her

Susan Gervaise believed she was adopted all her life.

Almost by accident, 53 years later, the truth was revealed: the real family had been looking for her since 1969, without giving up hope. The neighbors promised Susan’s parents they would take her to Disneyland with their children. The original plan was to take Susan for themselves, as it turned out later. After moving to Canada, the girl’s new family moved to another country. New Zealand was the final destination.

Susan believed all her life that she had been given up for adoption when she was four years old. In addition, the new family took great care of the girl’s upbringing. In addition to living in a nice house and getting an education, she traveled all over the world. When Susan went to renew her passport, she became suspicious: the archives did not contain any records of adoption. The truth was eventually revealed to Susan after she began to question the “family.” The woman was stunned by the situation.

Several months later, she found her real parents – those 53 years had not stopped searching for them. Past events cannot be changed. Despite what had happened to her, the woman did not break off relations with her “foster parents”.
