Lisa was expecting a kid when she entered the shelter.
Having anticipated that she would give birth to six puppies, her rescuers immediately placed her in a loving family, confident that the happy day would arrive.
In early March, Lisa gave birth to a litter that was much larger than anyone had imagined. Lisa delivered twice as many puppies as everyone had anticipated.
Fortunately, Lisa was well-prepared and adapted to motherhood quickly, enabling her to give her enormous new family its full attention. Because there were so many puppies, Lisa’s rescuers had to assist her by taking care of them.
The young dogs are normally acting properly and evolving as they should, and that’s all that matters. It’s a challenging undertaking that no one anticipated.
Everyone was shocked to see Lisa give birth to so many lovely puppies.
Each of the 12 puppies and its mother is thriving well, and the team is eager to introduce them to the best permanent homes when they’re ready.
