Although there are several no-kill shelters across the nation, many animals still have to be put to death if they cannot find a permanent home. In particular, this applied to the animals at a Texas shelter, where the death rate was alarmingly high.
Almost all of the animals in the shelter had to be euthanized, but thanks to the efforts of a dedicated and caring woman, that number was drastically reduced. This exceptional animal lover quit her career to devote her time to helping animals.

The public shelter required urgent upgrades and repairs due to its poor condition. When she made the decision to take over the sanctuary, there was no electricity or running water.

There just weren’t enough finances due to the limited budget to complete all required repairs. The shelter itself was in poor condition. Every Wednesday, euthanasia was carried out because there were too many animals.

When she discovered how many animals were abandoned, the woman was devastated.
She immediately started asking close friends, coworkers, and family members if they had any extra groceries. She quickly acquired cartons of necessary animal supplies.
