After being rescued, an abused puppy with horrific injuries undergoes a remarkable recovery.

A puppy whose previous owner broke her legs, hips, ribs, and jaw is now a completely different dog in her devoted new home.
When Daisy was rescued by the RSPCA at the age of barely 18 weeks old, she already had fractures in two of her legs, her hip, four of her ribs, and both sides of her mouth. Her prior owner attacked her repeatedly, leaving behind injuries that went untreated.

Following a tip from a concerned member of the public, RSPCA Inspector Lisa Lupson saved the bulldog-looking puppy in Merseyside last year.

Before the charity’s Wirral and Chester branches found Daisy a devoted permanent home with Emma and Jeff Rodd, Ms. Lupson hurried the helpless puppy to the veterinarian for emergency treatment.

Additionally, the RSPCA Inspector paid her a visit last week to see how she was doing.

“Daisy is a bundle of love and activity, and when she saw me, she went into overdrive, racing my way and smothering me in sticky kisses. It was a fantastic greeting, and it was inspiring to see how much of a difference our work makes.”

Daisy’s apparent contentment, according to Ms. Lupson, is a sharp contrast to how the pup appeared to her when she first saw her.

She was found sitting on a driveway in front of her owner, upright but gazing towards the ground, and seemed to be quite quiet, the RSPCA Inspector recalled.

She finally managed to stand up, but instead of walking normally, she dragged her back end to me. At this point, I realized that she was completely non-weight bearing on her left hind leg and had difficulty walking.

She suffered more injuries, as evidenced by the fact that her left ear was hanging low, bloated, and had a sizable scab that was evident on the inner ear flap.

“As I stroked her, I noticed that she had a few small patches of baldness on her head and a little scabbing around her neck. She gave off an impression that I can only describe as wretched and depressed. Daisy then laid her head on my palm while keeping a sharp gaze on me while I caressed her. She appeared to be pleading with me for assistance.”

“We knew what Daisy had been through, but seeing how happy and loving she is today, it is hard to comprehend the anguish and suffering she endured,” said Daisy’s new owner Mrs. Rodd.

“They saved her from a dreadful circumstance, assisted in mending her broken body, and then treated her till she was fit to live in a new place. We are happy to have her as a member of our family.
