Adorable Bagel, also known as Sunglass Cat to her tens of thousands of fans, was born without any eyelids and is unable to produce tears.
Despite three surgeries to improve her condition, owner Karen McGill must use eye drops many times every day because she has no eyelids.

The 48-year-old Karen and Bagel’s veterinarian also decided that Bagel’s eyes would be better protected if he wore sunglasses.
The grey moggy has grown accustomed to the glasses and now associates wearing them with ease and security.
The stick-on jewel-lined sunglasses prevent Bagel from getting debris in her eyes, which might harm her cornea and cause blindness.

Bagel occasionally takes her glasses off so she can wash them, but she typically wears them all the time in public, which attracts a lot of attention.
“Bagel is the most loving, kind, calmest, and the kindest cat that you’ll ever meet,” remarked Karen, a resident of Los Angeles in California, USA.

The number of individuals who have held Sunglass Cat, according to Karen, is in the thousands. During discussions that can take up to 20 minutes, Karen tries to educate people by explaining why the grey mog is wearing the glasses.
She got Bagel when he was just two months old, and she hopes that by becoming well-known, others would be inspired to adopt and help care for animals with unique needs.

Sunglass Cat has an eye ailment, allergies, and a problem controlling her body temperature, which is why she is covered up in some of her Instagram photos.
“I couldn’t imagine Bagel not being here. Had I not adopted Bagel, she probably would have been returned and put to death because of her specific needs. Her Instagram account is successful “as long as I can put a smile on someone’s face, make them have a better day, or look at life differently because of our postings.”
