An entire village banded together to help pay for emergency surgery, saving a cute dog with a damaged heart.

Spaniel, Springer When veterinarians discovered that barely a third of Alice’s heart was functioning, they gave her only a few days to live.
Siouxie and Richard Nelson, her distraught owners, were informed that her only choice was to undergo surgery to install a pacemaker, but it would cost them a significant £3680, which was money they did not have.

A desperate nurse created an internet appeal to raise money for Alice’s surgery, and within hours, word spread throughout the couple’s town of Woodhouse Eaves. Friends, family, and neighbors each contributed more than $2000 to cover the cost of the procedure.

Three-year-old Alice is now physically fit and has healed completely from the surgery.
We were happy with her recuperation and the fact that her operation went smoothly.

People are still giving even now, three months after the procedure, so we’ve attempted to give something back by contributing once a month to other canine fundraising pages to aid those in a similar situation.
