A bystander who had observed the incident discovered the traumatized and trembling six-year-old terrier Doodles in a ditch after he had escaped the restraints. The dog was bruised all over and had a concussion.

He was given the immediate veterinary care he required thanks to the charity’s Regional Rehoming Programme and then adopted by a nearby foster family so he could recover in the security of a warm home.

“The person who reported the event and the family who took in the boy and helped nurse him back to the excellent condition he is in today have our sincere gratitude.

Doodles’ story, however, had a happy ending since his foster parents fell in love with him and decided to make their home their permanent residence.
