After going missing near a cliff and being assumed dead, rescuers managed to save a dog by luring him with a sausage bun.
The owners of Henry the dog worried that their companion had perished after disappearing while taking a trip along the South West Coast Path in England.
In Boscastle, Cornwall, numerous coastguards located the dog alive many days after Henry went missing and immediately set to work feeding the starving animal.

According to SWNS, the dog disappeared on April 8 while strolling with his owners along the South West Coast Path in a place called The Strangles.
When the puppy first vanished, rescuers made an effort to locate the animal, but searches and drone flyovers around the area where Henry vanished were unsuccessful.
The dog’s distraught owners initially believed Henry had passed away after these unsuccessful searches for him.

Two days later, someone in the vicinity of where Henry vanished reported hearing a barking dog.
The Boscastle Coastguard Rescue Team discovered Henry on April 10 around 20 feet down a cliff fissure after responding to reports of a dog heard barking.
To safely liberate the imprisoned puppy, the rescuers sent a coastguard down a rope into the rift. The heroic dog was well-prepared. The rescuer made sure they had a sausage roll ready for the mission before entering the fissure.

The sausage bun was used by Henry’s rescuer to persuade the dog to accompany them on the journey out of the fissure, where the animal’s delighted owners greeted him at the conclusion.
