Bud Caldwell and his wife Betty had a happy marriage for 55 years. A few years ago, the man lost his beloved. He purchased a bench in a local park in memory of her and comes here every day to talk with her. A bouquet of daisies and a penny accompany him. In his mind, it symbolizes two of Betty’s favorite songs: “Pennies From Heaven” and “Daisy A Day.”
In a snowy winter, strangers noticed an old man standing in a snowdrift in front of a bench in a park when the paths were not cleared. His love and devotion were revealed to them as they talked. Even though Bud is already over 80, he still makes his way to his wife’s bench through the snowdrifts. The devotion of this man touched many people.
