94-year-old Lorraine Maurer, from Evansville, Indiana, has worked at her local McDonald’s for 44 years.

A disability forced her husband to quit in 1973, so she began looking for work on her own. The woman said it wasn’t about money, but that she and her husband were too young to stay at home. She got a job in a restaurant and has not changed jobs since then. In Evansville, several McDonald’s have opened and closed, but Lorraine keeps working at the company, changing restaurants, but not aspiring to climb the career ladder. Because of her clients, Miss Maurer loves her job.

Visitors are not strangers to her, even though she has four children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. During the week, Lorraine works only two days. Her fans at the local McDonald’s know her: they give her rides home after work. There is someone who comes to the restaurant on the days the woman works to chat with her. The cashier knows some families of visitors for generations and serves their children and grandchildren.

There is no job here. It’s really fun for me. It is up to you how you live your life. I’m trying.” Lorraine is also loved by the diner’s owners and employees. The institution congratulated her on yet another anniversary of working there. As we celebrate Lorraine’s 44 years at McDonald’s, we rock out with her at her party tonight! There aren’t many 94-year-old employees at our company.” Lorraine is a great asset to our team. In honor of the holiday, a cake was presented to the woman.
