Casey Saunders, 27, is a hero mother. Having created a family of twins with her husband Eugene Goree.
Ten years ago, this amazing family began. Eventually, Casey gave birth to two charming boys, Hayden and Cameron, while still very young. It’s not just twins, but monochorionic-monoamniotic brothers with one placenta and two amniotic sacs in the womb, as well as the same blood type. The resemblance between the little ones is striking. As a result, their own parents often confuse them.
It is rare to have twins, accounting for only one percent of all multiple pregnancies. It is very difficult to bear such children, by the way. They are constantly at risk of getting tangled in the umbilical cord. Casey gave birth to her sons safely. She didn’t dare to become a mother for a long time after that. Nine years later, Casey and Eugene are still fertile.
Upon hearing the doctor’s verdict, the spouses were surprised: “Twins again!” A monochorionic-monoamniotic pregnancy…” It was almost impossible for such a coincidence to occur between the spouses – one in ten million. However, they were able to pull out this particular “lottery ticket”. The sonographer laughed at me when I heard two heartbeats,” recalls Casey. She would have girls, according to the doctors. The survival rate for such twins after the 24th week of pregnancy is 75 to 80 percent, so the woman was protected as much as possible.
The babies were born alive and healthy. Maya and Laya were the girls’ names. They spent a month in the hospital after being born eight weeks early. The happy mother decided to share her amazing story four months after giving birth to inspire other women.
