Meet two feline siblings who each have only two legs due to a rare genetic defect

We meet Frog and Newt, two kittens born with a rare anomaly from the same litter. There are no hind legs on them. Both brothers learned to walk almost at the same time as normal kittens.

They walk well on their front legs, and their tails keep them balanced. The kittens were born in Liverpool, and their owner posted pictures of them on social media to find their parents.Rescue Me Animal Sanctuary volunteers saw the kitten pictures and decided to take care of them themselves.

Frog and Newt have been living in a shelter for ten days. Researchers have studied their anomaly and found that they do not know anything about the birth of such two-legged cats in the UK at the time. This seems to be a unique case.

Their anomaly is believed to be caused by inbreeding, since their mother and father were close relatives. When kittens are born to adult unsterilized cats and kittens from the same litter, congenital anomalies are often observed.

Stephanie Taylor, the shelter’s founder, says that the kittens’ mobility is not affected by the lack of two hind legs.It is amazing how well they walk, run, and jump on chairs and sofas.

The behavior and health of kittens are now closely monitored. If they don’t find their owners, they may live in this shelter forever.Due to the increase in size of their bodies, they will almost certainly need special strollers as adults.
