Woman finds her father sleeping alongside almost all of the neighborhood dogs.

Catey Hall frequently checks on her father and finds him napping on the couch. Hall’s father, however, never sleeps alone since neighborhood dogs join him to build a great, comfortable pile.

As Hall mentions, “Dad sees, plays with, and takes naps with one or more of these dogs every day.” They hurry inside after seeing his car and chase him.

Lon Watson, Hall’s father, has always had a passion for dogs and works with the neighborhood rescue center Pound on the Hill to make sure all animals receive the care they require.

Hall added. “We always had a dog when I was a kid. However, there was always space for a lost animal in need. Now that he and his wife are living alone, there is space for many. However, not all of the dogs are rehomed, and some of them remain with dad forever. They work with local rescues to find homes for the dogs in need.

My dad has been saving stray dogs for as long as I can remember,” Hall added. “We always had a dog when I was a kid. However, there was always space for a lost animal in need. Now that he and his wife are living alone, there is space for many. However, not all of the dogs are rehomed, and some of them remain with dad forever. They work with local rescues to find homes for the dogs in need.

All four of the dogs that Watson and his wife have rescued and rehabilitated live with them.

Hooch, Fluffer-Nutter, and Rosie, who all live close and have a special connection to Watson, however, pay him a visit each day.

The dogs in the area are delighted to wait all day for a quick encounter with Watson.

“The neighborhood is an unincorporated area of semi-rural Alabama. According to Hall, because the houses are situated back from the street, the dogs may safely jump from one to the next. Generally, when my dad’s car approaches, the dogs hear it coming and wait for him in the driveway.

Thankfully, Watson’s human neighbors don’t seem to mind that their dogs spend most of their time with Watson and they never bother them during their nap.

Watson just seems to have a way with every dog he meets. Even Hall’s two dogs try to join in. They definitely try to take Dad with them when he comes to visit.
