The Lifetime Bond Between A Golden Retriever And A Dolphin Has The Internet Going Crazy

Even though animals frequently develop the most bizarre of partnerships, nothing compares to the extraordinary friendship that a Golden Retriever and a dolphin have had for more than ten years. Everyone, welcome to Gunner and Delta!

While it may be typical for many of you to witness animals of various species behaving in the cutest manner, a friendship between a dog and a dolphin is undoubtedly not something you will see every day. But for more than eight years, Gunner and Delta have continued to astound the world with their special bond.

Since they initially connected at the Dolphin Research Center in Florida years ago, the two had been inseparable.

At the time, Gunner was only eight weeks old, while his marine companion was four years old. They didn’t just happen to run into each other, despite having one of the most inspiring friendships nature has ever supplied.

The mother of the dog, a trainer there, was interested in how dolphins reacted to different things or species, like puppies, for instance. Gunner was almost always with Marie Blanton, so she thought it would be wonderful to introduce her dog to Delta. I’m ecstatic that she did!

Blanton told Business Insider, “When he first got on the docks, I was expecting him to bark, or become incredibly excited, but he did the exact opposite: He just laid down and observed.” It seems that the amiable Delta was drawn to this tranquil temperament.

Delta was always the first dolphin to swim over to the dock whenever I brought Gunner down. He would attempt to play with him by bringing him his toys, she added. “Over time, the friendship gradually grew stronger. They don’t see each other as frequently now that they are a little older.
